I have this colleague who is always asking for a ride to work. Her house is only a couple of miles out of my way, so I’ve given her a ride a few times, as she always seems to have car trouble. Here’s the rub. Not once has she offered to give me any gas money. It’s not that I would take it, it’s just the thought, you know? And…she has now asked me to take her to work every day for an indefinite period of time until they can get a better car. I would just say no, but the people I work with don’t want her driving anyway since she is epileptic, and really appreciate that I give her rides. Actually, I don’t think someone who has seizures should be driving either, but not being offered gas money really burns me! I can be so shallow…
You know, I never have this problem. Maybe you should ride a bike to work…
