I am still in the midst of my decision-making crisis. At least I’m not being impetuous. I found an inexpensive lot over close to where my brother lives. So I’m thinking, build gradually and have no mortgage later, or buy ready to move in? And then there’s the question of whether or not I really want to stay here.
I’m very drawn to the idea of building. I want to build a 400 square foot studio that could be lived in while I put what would otherwise be rent plus my extra money into building a bigger house. Actually, I probably don’t need a bigger house. I hate cleaning. Sage is usually found sleeping in my room. I’m on the computer a lot, and I’d rather be outside more.
I can just see myself clunking some bricks together and getting some muscles. I think it would be cool. Tearing down those walls in the fixer-upper woke up some dormant urge in me to make a house. It’s like the ultimate craft project.
