		<description>We should have Memorial Day be like Veterans&#039; Day--it has to fall on May 30th (traditional Mem. Day and my mom&#039;s birthday) no matter what day of the week it turns out to be. People pay little attention to the reason for a three day weekend.

		<description>I think there&#039;s some interesting facet of American culture tied up in this, perhaps linked to those who seem to believe that those Coalition soldiers who died in Iraq and Afghanistan somehow died fighting for &#039;our freedom&#039;.  It&#039;s some fundamental failure to understand the benefits of living in our nations and what it takes to maintain those benefits.
