Wile E.

I’ve taken some pics of Wile E. He’s very photogenic, don’t you think? Here he is with Sage.

Yawn!

I just love his big, fuzzy ears!

If you saw this, you wouldn’t break into the house, right?

Especially when he’s this alert!

Of course, Wile E. is more than just good looks. Check out the things he can do!

Knock on the door to be let in. It sounds just like a “people” knock.

Turn the doorknob to let himself in if no one responds to the knocking.

Watch, and apparently enjoy, subtitled movies. Or perhaps he understands Chinese.

Chew nonstop on a rawhide bone for FIVE hours.

Pick up the outside water bowl and parade it around when it is empty. (Must get big autorefilling water bowl for outside!)

Put the water bowl back down exactly in its place later on.

Play fetch by himself. (He has no interest in playing it with his people yet.)

    Attentively listen to my singing.

We are having a blast with Wile E. However, I’m sure you notice that “outside” was mentioned a few times. When he is inside, he has to be supervised, so we close all the doors to the living room and dining room, which is where we usually are, and let him hang out in there with us. At night, he is crated in his “den” in Sage’s room.

Before we started the supervision/door closing routine, Wile E. hauled EIGHT pairs of sneakers/boots/sandels into his den for a midnight snack. Fortunately, Sage saw them and saved the day.

He fits in well. Salsa, Wile E. and Varmint the cat are currently passed out on the living room floor in the air-conditioning.

  1. He is imposing, which is a good thing. (way scarier than our Kiwi) I’m glad you figured out how to control him earlier than we did. We had to spackle walls and had many pairs of shoes chewed up. Naturally we never caught him because he was terribly sneaky.

  2. @Margaret: Oh, he is sneaky alright. Very sneaky. That’s why he is kept within eyesight at all times that he is not crated or outside.

  3. He looks so much happier than the photo of him hiding in the bushes further down the page!! :O) I guess he’s settled in?
    Gorgeous dog!
